ABOUT
Industrial automation works at scale when robots, software, and operations move in concert. That's what Idealworks has been engineering since 2020. Born inside BMW Group production, now orchestrating 1,700+ robots worldwide.
Origins

Idealworks began inside BMW Group's innovation lab in 2015. Five years of exploration and testing on the production floor made one thing clear: BMW Group needed an autonomous mobile robot that could withstand and keep up with the harsh production environment. Nothing on the market was reliable enough.
The iw.hub became the first autonomous robot deployed inside BMW Group's plants — CE-certified, production-hardened, and able to handle scalable material flow.
Solving the hardware problem revealed the next layer: getting robots, people, and systems to work together across vendors, shifts, and systems never built to talk to each other. That required something the hardware alone couldn't provide. That's what Idealworks OS (formerly AnyFleet) was built for.
Today

Idealworks was fully acquired by Agile Robots SE in September 2025, moving from BMW Group subsidiary to part of one of Europe's largest robotics groups. BMW Group remains one of Idealworks' largest customers; the Munich headquarters and product roadmap did not change. In April 2026, Idealworks Inc. opened in Greenville, South Carolina, bringing the full orchestration system to the North American market.

Idealworks has facilitated BMW Group production continuously since 2020. We build relationships the same way — for the long term, not the pilot.
The benchmark is automotive production: three shifts, seven days, zero downtime tolerance. Every decision is made against that standard.
Named customers. Real plants. Specific data. 30,000 missions per day, 98.5% availability. Proof over projections.
Shipped software. Deployed fleets. Published standards. Everything claimed runs in production
